TIGERS DEFEAT CRIMSON 36-32

PRINCETON, N. J., Feb. 12--The Crimson basketball team is now in undisputed possession of the cellar berth in the Eastern Intercollegiate League as a result of a 36 to 32 overtime loss tonight at the hands of Princeton.

From the opening whistle to the end of the first half, it looked as if the Tigers definitely had the game in the bag. At half-time, the home team sported a 23 to 14 point lead.

As soon as the second half started, however, Captain Franny Simpson's men seemed to spring to life while the Princeton Tiger was lying in wait for the final pounce on its prey. Harvard grabbed 13 straight points to jump to a four point lead before Princeton scored.

Regulation Game, 32-32

From this point on, the game seesawed, with first one, then the other team taking turns at leading. At the end of the regulation time of play, the score read 32 to 32.

In the overtime period, play became very tight, and only two baskets were scored. The taller Tiger quintet accounted for both of these, which proved the margin of victory over the visitors who were held scoreless.

Top scorer of the game was Feslerman Joe Romano with 12 points. Bud Finegan, with nine points, and Captain Franny with seven accounted for most of the other scoring. Ed Buckley, usually a high scorer, was held to two points as was center Ed Rothschild. Bill Webber, Homer Peabody, and Art Scully went scoreless. High scorer for the Bengals was their Captain Dan Carmichael with nine points.
