Eli Crew Race May Be Earlier This Spring

If plans underfoot go through, it is altogether possible that the Yale crew race at New London will be held a week earlier than usual this year, so that squad members may meet military obligations.

Crew Coach Tom Bolles asked Bill Bingham to get in touch with the Yale Athletic director, Ogden Miller, about the proposed change in date, but since Miller is on vacation, the outcome of the proposal is still unknown. Should the date be changed, the race would be held on Friday, the 13th of June, but that doesn't seem to bother the Harvard mentor at all.

In hopes of the ice going out of the Charles sometime in the next month, practice is now starting in earnest, and the water in the tanks, usually kept stationary, is now running.
