In this years series of free public lectures sponsored by the Lowell Institute to be given in the lecture room of the Boston Public Library, Bernard DeVoto and Carl J. Friedrich will be among the three speakers scheduled.
Next Monday, DeVoto, the noted writer and editor, formerly a lecturer on English here will tell the tale of the ill-fated Donner Party which frose to death in a high mountain pass in California.
Government professor Carl J. Friedrich will give two discussion next week on "The Common Man Versus the Elite" and "The Future Citizen."
