Six appointments to the teaching and research staff were announced by the University yesterday, as follows:

Effective Nov. 19, 1941: Lorenzo R. Parodi, Professor of Botany at the University of Buenos Aires, as Research Associate at the Arnold Arboretum.

Effective February, 1942: George N. Steiger, Professor of History at Simmons College, as Visiting Lecturer on History; Ph.D. '23.

Effective Oct. 27, 1941: Herbert Bloch, of Cambridge, Mass., as Instructor in Greek and Latin; Dr. lett. University of Rome '35.

Effective Oct. 1, 1941: Frederick R. Pleasants, of Upper Montclair, N. J., as Assistant to the Director of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology; A.M. Harvard '38.

Effective Sept. 1, 1941: William Schneider, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, as Research Fellow in Chemistry; Ph.D. McGill '41; and Lawrence F. Ebb, of Dorchester, Mass., as Teaching Fellow in Government and Tutor; A.M. Harvard '40.
