Dr. Blackfan, Professor at Medical School, Is Dead

Dr. Kennoth D. Blackfan, Thomas Dorgan Rotch Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical School, died last Saturday at Louisville, Ky., where he had been recuperating from an illness which came on last spring. Funeral services will be held in Cambridge, N. Y., where he was born 58 years ago.

Dr. Blackfan was recognized as one of the outstanding pediatricians in the country. He headed or participated in many government and international commissions on child health, and taught at the University of Cincinnati, Johns Hopkins, Washington University, and the Polyclinic Hospital in Philadelphia before coming to Harvard as professor of Pediatrics in 1923. He was associated with the Infants' Hospital in Boston and was a member of the Harvard Infantile Paralysis Commission.
