A superior-playing Harvard Jayvee football team lost to Princeton last Friday afternoon after two ten-yard passes were completed to push over a last period touchdown, and the extra point converted, thus giving the Orange and Black a one point margin of victory.
Scoring their first and only touchdown of the game in the second quarter after a 55 yard dash on the part of Steve Gifford, the Crimson outplayed their opponents throughout the contest, although, in general, it was a fairly even game.
Outstanding for the Jayvees were Gifford in the backfield and center Bill La Croix in the line. La Croix was elected captain of the team for the remainder of the season at a meeting held immediately prior to the game.
