Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
An increase of 37.4 per cent in the number of students from foreign countries and United States territories and possessions attending the University this year was disclosed in figures released yesterday by the Dean's office. This year's total is 356, as compared to last year's 269.
Represented by the largest numbers of students are Canada with 51, China 41, Germany 41, England 22, Hawaii 21, Czechoslovakia 13, France 12, Australia 11, Peru 10, Puerto Rico 10 and Argentina 9.
Officials explained that in many cases these students, especially from European countries, intend to become citizens of the United States and to reside permanently in this country.
The greatest increases over last year are Germany with 41, as compared to last year's 5; Austria with 11, as compared to 0; Czechoslovakia with 13, compared to 4; France with 12, as compared to 5; England with 22, as compared to 12; China with 47, as compared to 34; Peru with 10, as compared to 5; and Russia with 4, as compared to 0.
The countries represented this year that had no students here last year are Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Finland, Jamaica, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Paraguay, Russia, Spain, Syria, and Yugoslavia.
