Spirited as the Yale and Harvard Freshman soccer elevens are said to be, when they clash this afternoon at 2 o'clock on a field adjoining the Varsity booting battle, it will not be a struggle of giants but a mediocre Eli squad attempting to overcome a no more than fair Crimson team.
Yale has won four, dropped two and tied two; while the Yardlings have taken five, lost three, and tied one. The Elis will be out to revenge the 3-0 defeat the Harvard Freshmen handed them last year, but will be handicapped by the loss of their Captain Dan Boynton, who is suffering an ankle injury.
The Harvard Freshman lineup: Captain Thompson, g; Forster, rfb; Hadley, lfb; Allen, rhb; Foster, chb; Glidden, lhb; Cate, ro; Apthorp, ri; Carr, cf; Morgan, li; Makinson, lo.
The Yale Freshman line-up: Dicken, g; Hughes, rfb; Truesdale, lfb; Connick, rhb; Ohnstead, chb; Chappell, lhb; Hedstrom, ro; Hawley, ri; Deland, cf; Wolfe, li; Daviland, lc.
