Fifty Freshmen last night crowded into the Union's Upper Common Room to hear the announcement that the former Bicycle Racing Club has joined the Harvard Outing Club this year in a big fall program of trips of every sort.
Wheaton will be added to the list of Harvard's coeds if plans by the Bicycle Boys, who last year raced to Wellesley, Smith and Radcliffe to win the lasses' smiles, mature in a race to Norton.
Under the new amalgamation, the bikers will join the hikers as regular members, while Alfred Schmidt '42, former President of the bicyclists, will become Bicycle Racing Chairman of the Outing Club. There will be no change in the Outing Club plans or organization.
Colored movies of whitewater canoeing and skiing on Mount Moosilauke will feature the Outing Club's open meeting tonight at 8:00 o'clock in the Lowell House Common Room. Doughnuts and a keg of cider are promised.
