Hanover Effigy Gets Rough Treatment

More than half of the undergraduate body squeezed into the Varsity Club quadrangle last night to cheer, bellow, stamp, whistle, scream, and generally emote over their football team in the most successful pre-game rally of Harvard history.

Keynote of the evening was struck by Coach Harlow, who told the lively throng that if they would "stick with the team for the next couple of weeks," the season would end up successfully. "There is no indifference that a couple of touchdowns can't cure," he added.

In addition to Captain Lee and Coach Harlow were two former Harvard players--Bobby Green, captain of the 1938 team, and "Pesky" Pescosolido, whose 93 yard touchdown run in 1932 featured the Crimson's last victory over the Indians.

At the conclusion of the singing of "Fair Harvard" an effigy of a Dartmouth man was torn from his moorings on a nearby tree, to be consumed in a thoroughly satisfactory blaze.
