GRAUSTEIN IS KILLED IN CAR

Funeral services will be held today for William Caspar Graustein '10, professor of Mathematics, who was killed in an automobile accident in Belmont Wednesday afternoon.

Internationally known as a mathematician and recognized as one of three foremost differential geometers in the country, Professor Graustein was also Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Chairman of the Board of Tutors in the Department of Mathematics.

It is as a teacher, however, that he was best known by undergraduates. For his brilliant instruction in Mathematics A and 3, he was deeply admired by his students, try, Professor Graustein was a member

Author of several books on Geome- of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was awarded the Royal Academy of Belgium mathematical award in 1926. He received his PhD degree from the University of Bonn, Germany, in 1913, and has been a member of the Harvard faculty since then, except for a few years as assistant professor at Rice Institute in Texas, and research service for the Army during the war.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock this morning in the Memorial Church. The Rev. Angus Dun, dean of the Episcopal Theological School will preside.
