Alan Sweezy '29, formerly an instructor in Economics here, has been appointed to a teaching post in the department of Economics at Williams. Sweezy and J. Raymond Walsh were given terminating appointments in the spring of 1937, raising a bitter controversy over academic freedom and the merits and demerits of the Harvard tenure system.
