Following the lead of the Biblical Eve, who always seemed to be looking for newer and bigger fig leaves, two gay girls from Emerson Dramatic College yesterday went into the market for ivy leaves in a secluded spot behind one of the Business School dormitories.
Yard police, hearing rumors of illicit proceedings, rushed to the Business School, but only to find that Patricia Archambault and Rita Hamlin, a couple of Thespians from Emerson, had uprooted and pilfered an ivy vine, to be used at the dedication of Emerson's new theatre on Saturday night.
After much deliberation, the Yard cops let the girls have it.
