The University R.O.T.C. unit received a rating of "Excellent" for its showing at the annual review and inspection two weeks ago, Colonel it, H. D. Jay. professor of Military Sciences and Tactics, announced yesterday.

The rating, the highest that can be given to a Senior R.O.T.C. unit, was awarded by Colonel Conrad H. Lauza of the Field Artillery Corps, who conducted the inspection.

The announcement of the award was made to President Conaut by Major-General James A. Woodruff.

"It gives me great pleasure to know that the high standard of performance which has distinguished this unit in the past is still being maintained," General Woodruff said.
