Brown, Dartmouth Defeated By Golf Sextet, Tying Yale

Bobby Graves, Ace Cordingley Take Low Scores in Rainy Wins

The Varsity golf team sloshed into a first place tie with Yale in the standings in the northern half of the Eastern league by outscoring Dartmouth 6 to 3 Saturday afternoon on the rainswept Manchester Country Club. On Friday the Crimson six blanked Brown 9 to 0.

Ace Cordingley and Watty Dickerman lost their matches and the best ball in the first foursome, but Bob Graves, Gerry Davis, Don Feddie, and Pete Macgowan carried off the last six points for the team victory.

Graves was the individual star of the win on Friday with a sub-par 71, while Cordingley, in defeat, was the low Harvard man Saturday. A driving rain all Saturday morning had turned the course into a veritable swamp.
