COLLEGE-ROUND CONANT'S SON PREFERS WEST OVER HARVARD

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Now a Senior at Phillips Exeter Academy, James Bryant Conant, Jr. has not yet, according to the Admissions office, made any application for entrance to Harvard. It is believed that his first preference in a college is Michigan, with the Universities of Wisconsin, California, and Indiana also numbered among the possibilities.

At Exeter his extensive extra-curricular activities include the presidency of The Lantern Club, a literary group, membership on the staff of the Exonian, school newspaper, and participation in the debates of the Golden Branch debating society. President Conant's 17-year old son is also on the staff of the Review, a literary magazine, and is a member of the Cum Laude Society.
