Joseph Reed '42 Will Manage Varsity Crew in Senior Year

Hurd Named 150-Pound Manager; Binnian Wins '43 Competition

Joseph Reed '42 of New York has been elected assistant manager of crew for next year and will become varsity manager his Senior year, it was announced last night. At the same time it was made public that George N. Hurd, Jr. '42, of Adams House and Milton, will be assistant 150-pound manager for next year, to manage the varsity fifties in 1942.

Reed prepared at St. Paul's and last year won his Freshman competition. Hurd attended Milton Academy and finished second last year.

William Binnian '43 of Cohasset and Weld Hall was announced as winner of the Freshman competition this year and will manage the '43 crew for the Yale races. William A. Atcheley '43 of Holworthy Hall was named his assistant; Frederick W. Harrington '43 of Milton and Robert W. Perkins '43 of Holworthy Hall finished third and fourth.
