At a meeting in Weld Hall yesterday morning the Harvard Memorial Society was rejuvenated with the election of five Freshman officers. The organization had been facing almost certain death because almost all of the present members are to graduate this year.
Kennedy Smith was elected President, William R. Taylor, Vice-President; Willard Waterous, Secretary; Richard H. Russell, Treasurer; and Charles E. Reed, Jr., Archivist.
Plans for the annual banquet, which will be held on June 7 or 8, were formulated. Christian M. Lauritzen II '40, who is this year's president, will assist Donald McD. Thurber '40 and Kennedy Smith '43 on the banquet committee. Templeton Smith '40 and Willard Waterous '43 will arrange for a faculty member to speak at the meeting.
