Council Nominations to Be Released Friday

Meeting of New Committee Held Last Night--Petitions Due Thursday

Preliminary nominations for next year's Student Council will be announced on Friday, according to Frederick Holdsworth, Jr. '40, chairman of the Council nominating committee which held its first meeting last night.

All petitions for nominees, which have to be signed by at least 35 members of the candidate's class, must be turned in at Eliot K-25 by 5 o'clock on Thursday, Holdsworth said: After the first list has been announced in Friday's CRIMSON, further petitions will be accepted until Monday, and the elections will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

17-Man Committee

The nominating committee, recently appointed by Council President Phil C. Neal '40, is composed of eight Senior members of the Council, five non-member Juniors, and four Sophomores. The list includes:

Seniors: Blair Clark, William C. Coleman, Jr., Mason Fernald, Theodore L. Hazlett, Jr., Thomas V. Healey, Holdsworth, Ward M. Hussey, and James D. Lightbody, Jr.

Juniors: Edward P. Allis IV, Joel E. Ferris, Alfred J. Gilbert, Thomas F. McGann, Jr., and John Schwede. Sophomores: Thomas J. Broidrick, Jr., John P. Bunker, Engene D. Keith, and M. Greeley Summers.

The list to be published Friday will make to distinction as to which nominees are selected by the committee and which are petitioned.
