'Poon and Crimson Bury Hatchet at Dance on Plympton Street Roof; Reeves' Band Plays

The CRIMSON and Lampoon called off hostilities for a night as all publications joined forces at a dance held on the Plympton Street roof garden Saturday night for the first time in many years.

The music of Ken Reeves and his orchestra which played from 10 o'clock until 3:30 and of Michael Levin's combo which took over until the party broke up at 5 o'clock, combined with the ten gallon punch bowl to make the party a success.

Publications Truce

The 'Poon - Crime truce is scheduled to last another week as the funny magazine boys have invited a number of Crimson executives to the Mt. Auburn street hangout for a dance this coming weekend. Ken Reeves orchestra again will provide the music.

With the annual baseball game between the two rivals scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, the tong war threatens to break out anew, however.

Selections from the Pi Eta and Hasty Pudding shows, arranged especially for the dance by Reeves, added to the colorful occasion which was staged largely under the cover of a small-scale circus tent set up on the roof of the newspaper building.

Patronesses and Chaperones

Heading the list of patronesses for the affair was Mrs. James Bryant Conant. Others included Mrs. Homer Albers of Brookline, Mrs. Stanley Cobb of Milton, Mrs. Grosvenor Calkins of Newton, Mrs. Harrison Lyman of Winchester, Mrs. Thomas W. Little of Belmont, Mrs. Arthur W. Reed of Belmont; Mrs. Frank A. Pemberton of Chestnut Hill and Mrs. Frank J. Ludwig of Brookline.

Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Ulen of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dennet '36, Professor and Mrs. Carle C. Zimmerman served as chaperones.
