Athletic Association Names 168 Winners of Winter Sports Letters

Fencing, Squash, Wrestling, and Polo Captains Get Major H's

The Harvard Athletic Association has announced the award of athletic insignia to 168 winter sports athletes.

A Major H in Minor Colors was awarded to Captain A1 Labastie, Cranston Jones, and Jesse Croach of the fencing team, Captain Gay Dillingham of the polo team, Captain Kim Canavarro and Japanese Rousmaniere of the squash team, all of whom have won a Minor H for three successive years. Canavarro also was awarded a Major H in Minor Colors for winning the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Championship.

A Major H in hockey was voted to Vinton Freedley, a regular goalie, who, because of injury, was unable to play against Yale. Swimming numerals were voted to Le Baron Russell Briggs '41 for managing the Swimming Carnival, and minor hockey numerals were voted Galen L. Stone, assistant Freshman hockey manager.
