Arthur Kern '41 Preparing Psychology Paper on Obscenity

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In preparation for a Psychology paper, Arthur S. Kern '41 of Adams House is circulating a questionnaire calculated to determine the extent of swearing in the college.

Kern's quiz has a long list of tastefully chosen epithets ranging from mild profanity to the most exquisite of obscenity. The list is marked according to the words that the man questioned uses variously in familiar male company, with comparative strangers, and with women or ladies.

Also provided are spaces for the insertion of favorite gems of swearing which have been omitted from the prepared list. The objective of the paper is to provide a link between the student's early religious training and the amount of obscenity which he now utilizes.
