In a driving rain that forced some of the events to be run off indoors, the Yardling track team bowed to Andover 74 to 52 Saturday.

John MacKinnon won both the high and low hurdles, and Ted Graves, Fred Phinney, and Paul Cook swept the half-mile event, but Andover took all places in the javelin and broad jump.

Paul Johrde raced home first in the mile trailed by Logan in third place, while Jack Bonner and Truman Ford won the shot put and pole vault for the Crimson team.

Ford Ties ion High Jump

Andover copped the remaining firsts in the 100-yard, 220-yard, and 440-yard dashes, the hammer throw and the discus. Ford jumped to a tie with Carter of Andover in the high jump, clearing the bar at six feet, with Parsons of Andover third.

After the races had been run in a downpour, the rest of the events, the jumps, pole vault, discus, and shot put, were moved into the gymnasium, which impeded record-breaking performance.
