Five faculty members are among the sponsors of a meeting in behalf of civil rights which will be held tomorrow night at eight o'clock in the Old South Meeting House in Boston.
In the opinion of the sponsors, the gathering will serve as a protest against the recent raids of the Dies Committee in Boston and other cities as an invasion of civil rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
The faculty members sponsoring the meeting are Kirtley F. Mather, professor of Geology. Francis O. Matthiessen, associate professor of History and Literature, David W. Prall. professer of Philosophy, George W. Sarton, Lecturer on the History of Science, and Ernest J. Simmons, assistant professor of English.
Phill Frankfeld, one of the three Boston Communists subpoenaed by the Dies Committee, and Orville Poland, chairman of the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Committee, will address the assembly.
