The CRIMSON's news, business, photographic, and editorial boards will open their last competitions of the year tomorrow night at 7:30 o'clock.
The business board competition, which is open only to Freshmen, offers valuable business experience. Advertising copy writing, copy running, and soliciting for advertisements and subscriptions are the important functions learned by candidates.
Many students hesitate to come out for this board because they fear that much previous experience in this line is necessary or because they are ignorant of the functions, work, and advantages of the business board. The views of Thomas W. Little '43 and Frank A. Pemberton '42, newly elected editors on the business board, should clear up most of the questions about this competition.
Little states that he had only a very small amount of experience before he came out. He picked the business board because he felt the business training to be derived there would be an asset in future life. Pemberton wanted to learn to meet different types of people and saw no better way than selling ads.
Both felt that though the seven week competition involved some hard work, it was well worth his while.
"We feel that the business training and the many connections we have had with business men while working on the business board will be a valuable complement to our studies when we leave college." they agreed.
