Marshals Endorse Achievement Tests

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Thomas V. Healey '40, Phil C. Neal '40, and Ernest J. Sargent '40, newly elected Marshals, yesterday urged all Seniors to take Graduate Record Examinations to be given by the Carnegie Foundation.

"The results of these examinations," they said," should be an important contribution to the present study of the adequacy of Harvard's distribution system. It is hoped that most of the members of the class will find it possible to take the tests."

The examinations were designed with the cooperation of the faculties of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia and will test the student's general grasp of the principle subjects taught in a liberal arts college. These tests have recently been made open to Freshmen as well as Seniors. The student will receive a chart containing the results.
