The Harvard chapter of Phi Beta Kappa last night elected eight Juniors, termed "the eight intellectually most outstanding men, judging from their grades and from the recommendations of their tutors.

The "Junior Eight" is the first group to be picked for Phi Beta Kappa membership from the Class of 1941, and the only ones to be chosen in the Junior year.

Elected last night were Julian C. Eisenstein, David K. V. Golding; William F. Ketcheum, Spencer Klaw, Elbert M. Moffat, Jr., Chris G. Petrow, Joseph H. Summers, and Kenneth N. Trueblood.

National Scholar

Eisenstein, a Mathematics concentrator, comes from Warrenton, Missouri, and lives in Lowell House. A graduate of Warrenton High, he is a National Scholar, and was a member of the Union Debating Society in his Freshman year. He is an editor of the Guardian.

A resident of Brooklyn, New York, Golding graduated from Culver Military Academy and lives in Dunster House. In his Freshman year he was awarded the Whitaker Prize, annually given to the outstanding scholar of the Freshman class, and he also rowed on the second crew. He concentrates in Chemistry.

Ketchum comes from Evanston, Illinois, and is a graduate of Evanston Township High. He lives in Lowell House, concentrates in Biochemical Sciences, and is a Phillips Brooks House worker.

Klaw comes from Carmel, New York, is a graduate of the Loomis School, and lives in Adams House. He is President of the CRIMSON, and a member of the Student Council; his field of concentration is Economics.

Moffat comes from Bombay, India and graduated from the Woodstock School there. He concentrates in Engineering Sciences and lives in Kirkland House. In his Freshman year Moffat rowed on the crew, and last year was in the Jayvee boat.
