NYT Journalist Maggie Haberman Weighs In on Trump’s White House, Democratic Strategy at Harvard Talk
The first and second all-House basketball teams, chosen on the basis of all-around playing ability rather than of the total points scored, were announced recently by Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics.
Kirkland House, champion of the League, placed two men on the first team; Howle Ezell is one of the forwards, while Don McSweeney fills a guard position. Hal Lubchansky of Dunster, who was the highest league scorer with 122 points, is the other forward, and Jack Stewart and Ace Cordingley of Leverett are center and guard, respectively.
Cordingley Steadiest Player
Lubchansky is a good shooter and a shifty dribbler. Stewart is excellent in pivot-work, and scored most of his goals in that fashion. Probably the steadiest player on the whole team is Cordingley; he is especially apt at feeding the ball to other men under the basket.
McSweeney is fast, a good floor-man and an unerring shot. Ezell, although not among the top scorers, is the best floor-man, as far as dribbling and passing are concerned, in the whole league.
The first team was chosen with four factors in mind: floor play, defensive work, passing, and shooting.
The second team is composed of Pete McGowan of Adams at center, Bob Jackson of Adams at right forward, Sherm Tonkonow of Lowell at left forward, George Smith of Kirkland at left guard, and Joe Peden of Winthrop at right guard.
