C.A.A. FLYERS COMPLETE GROUND COURSE FIRST

Harvard was the first in the Eastern College group to finish the groundwork in preparation for the Civil Aeronautics Examination, according to William Bollay, instructor in mechanical engineering and head of the course.

Out of 76 students to take this test, 71 passed, and the remaining five, with four of their classmates who were sick, will take a make-up examination next week. In the same examination all 50 students enrolled at Tufts, Northeastern and Boston College passed their tests.

The examination covered all the theoretical aspects of the ground training, such as C.A.A. rules, Meteorology, and Navigation. When the students have completed their 35 hours in the air, they will be given a flight test including spot landings and maneuvers.

Studying under the sponsorship of the College Primary Training plan since the beginning of the year, 80 students will have private pilots' licenses by June.
