Terming President Conant "the principal exponent of the principles and practices of tolerance and good-will" in this country, the Jewish War Veterans announced Sunday that they had awarded to him their peace prize for 1940.

The J.W.V. nominated Harvard's president, they stated, because of "his courageous devotion to the cause of humanity and good will."
