QUINTET TOPS AGILE HUSKIES IN 51-33 WIN

Meeting up against a much faster Northeastern basketball team than it expected, Coach Wes Fesler's Varsity five rose to the occasion and put on its best speed of the season in trouncing the visitors 51' to 33 last night in the Indoor Athletic Building. The Yardlings had previously tanned the hide of the weak Husky Cubs 49 to 26.

It was the highest scoring affair this season for the Feslermen and the fourth straight victory in a thus far undefeated record. Top point getters for the Crimson were Bill Webber and Ed Buckley with 12 each, Bud Finegan with eight, and Joe Romano with seven.

Every member of the squad participated in the track meet with Captain Franny Simpson, Ed Rothschild, Homer Peabody, and Bob James also hitting the scoring column.

Like Last Year's Game

The game was almost a duplicate of last year's contest which Harvard won 51 to 38. The ball moved so fast and furiously that a large number of fouls were called, causing officials Newell and Murphy to be reprimanded on numerous occasions by the partisan capacity audience.

Joe Romano and Bud Finegan personally conducted Harvard to an early 9 to 2 lead which was never really threatened for the rest of the game. Bill Webber, without doubt playing the best game in his career, Kept the Huskies on their heels all night with quick breakaways.

Honors for the most remarkable basket of the evening go to Ed Buckley, whose long, looping shot from near his own foul line ended the half as the whistle sounded. High scorer for the visitors was Hal Maron with 11 points. Al Pajonas and Joe Lawler scored seven each.

A lackadaisical Yardling squad had little trouble in dumping the Northeastern Freshmen 49 to 26. Crimson scoring honors were almost equally divided among Don Lutze, Dick Elken, George Burditt, Jack Torgan, and Ed Hadley.
