Captains of Varsity teams are staging a dinner this evening in honor of the Athletic Department's forgotten men: the trainers, rubbers, and jack-of-all-trades around the gymnasiums and athletic fields.
"A spontaneous, co-operative affair, unprecendented in Harvard's athletic history," as its organizers termed it, the dinner will be held at 7 o'clock at the Hotel Commander. Representatives of every sport are expected to attend, among them Joe Gardelia of the football team, Dave Ives of the soccer Varsity, basketball captain Frannie Simpson, and swimming captain Frannie Powers. An official of the H.A.A. will also be present.
After the meal, several brief speeches will be made and gifts awarded to the guests in appreciation of the friendliness and cooperation toward the students.
