A thoroughly revised Law School Year Book will make it appearance next Thursday. Editor-in-chief Robert S. Ratner 3L and Chairman of the Year book Committee Delmar W. Hollman 3L have prepared a volume with a revamped format and several new and enlivening features and have dedicated it to Oliver Wendell Holmes, on time Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Marking the one hundredth birthday of the world-famous jurist, the book will include a biography and criticism by Owen Roberts, Associate Justice of the Court; an article entitled "A Secretary Looks at Holmes" by W. Barton Leach '21, professor of Law; and a critical essay "The Student Views Holmes" by Robert F. Magill 3L. The dedication itself was written by present Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes.
Holmes Added to Famed
Holmes is another in a distinguished list of lawyers and judges to whom the Yearbook has been dedicated. Last year's edition was presented to Felix Frankfurter, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court and former Harvard professor.
Most revolutionary of the changes in the current issue of the Yearbook is the inclusion of two pages on the Harvard Law Wives. This group, comparable to he Harvard Dames, consists of the wives of the law instructors and students. This is the first time a page has ever been devoted to women in the history of the book.
Another addition to the book is the use of cartoons as divider pages. These have been taken from Old English drawings, the originals of which are in the Law Library. They illustrate four famed cases including Armory vs. Dela Mirie and the Six Carpenter's Case.
Published Under P.B.H.
Publishing the yearbook under the auspices of Philips Brooks House is a committee consisting of Robert R. Hurst 2L, Robert F. Magill 3L, Richard K. Martin 2L, Bernard H. Golfluss 3L, and Christ J. Petrow 2L.
This committee has, in addition to the Yearbook, published a pamphlet with the names, pictures, and addresses of all third year law students. The booklet has been distributed among the leading law firms throughout the country in order to facilitate the procurement of jobs after graduation.
