8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
With the appointment of two counselors for Freshmen, the American Civilization Program this year abandons extracurricular work in the Houses and increases the emphasis on first-year men. The new Freshman Counsellors are Joseph T. Lambie 4G, and Bernard R. Bowron 2G.
The plan this year is to continue the highly successful extra-curricular activities in the Yard while operating in closer association with English A.
The counsellors will hold essay contests and weekly discussion groups, beginning next week, and will be available daily for conferences with Yardlings interested in American Civilization, whether within or without the curriculum.
After having proved eminently successful last year, the two essay contests for Freshmen will again be held, with two series of prizes being offered, four of $25 each and an additional $25 for the best of the four winners.
