With their first match scheduled against M. I. T. on December 7, the wrestling team is putting on the pressure. Outside the fact that the team will have to enter the first match with three of its first line men missing, it should not have too much trouble with the Techmen.
Captain Bruce Richardson, Tom Lacey, and Jimmy Redmon, all of them top notch wrestlers, will have to be benched for the first meet. However, the grapplers do not lack for reserve material. There are veterans of several matches to fill in all three weights, with Ray Stone, Dick Aldrich, and Harry Blaine as most likely contenders for three berths in the respective order.
Other Veterans Return
The other veterans from last year who will probably be wrestling in the match are Teddy Schoenberg, second in the Easterns last year, Dick Thomas, and Bill Tyng. Meanwhile, two sophomores look likely for spots on the team for the first match: Tom Rogstadt, heavyweight grappler on the Freshman outfit last year, and Lee Ackerman, Freshman wrestling coach, has also been giving his yardling strongmen a vigorous drill, for they open their season on the same Saturday. The Freshman outfit looks strong potentially and should turn in a better season than last year's Yardlings.
This year's schedule for the wrestlers has one more pre-Christmas match than usual, extending the season for an additional week. For the most part, the meets scheduled will be the same as last year. A few changes will be made which are still holding fire for the moment, but the final schedule should be available soon.
