CANAVARRO BATTLES IN STATE QUARTER FINALS

Rousmaniere Defeated by Captain in Third Round; Racquetmen Whipped By Harvard Club

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Top-flight competition has made the record of Jack Barnaby's racquetmen less distinctive than their play has merited during the past week, with a 4-1 shellacking from the Harvard Club and the elimination of all but Kim Canavarro, who is in the quarter finals, from the State Tournament.

The luck of the draw pitied the only two Crimson representatives together in the third round, when in four close games Captain Canavarro edged number 2 man Jim Rousmaniere, 18-16, 18-15, 9-15, 18-14.
