Speakers at the meeting included William J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics; Dick Harlow, football coach; Hal Ulen, coach of the swimming team; and Tom Bolles, crew mentor.

Chief item on the Freshman calendar today, after the opening of classes, is a meeting at the Union this evening on "America Faces the Second World War."

Dean Hanford will preside over the gathering which will be addressed by Arthur N. Holcombe, professor of Government, on pending legislation; and by Rupert Emerson, assistant professor of Government, on the course of the war during the summer. The meeting is sponsored by the Harvard Student Union.
