Stahlmen Take Fifth Straight As Healey, Brackett Coast To Victory

By Theodore R. Barnett

Unleashing a timely batting attack, Floyd Stahl's relentless varsity nine mopped up Soldiers Field yesterday with a badly rattled Princeton Tiger, as they collected their fifth straight triumph to the tune of 13 to 2, behind Tom Healey and Charlie Brackett.

Harvard's Big Berthas went right to work in the first, and knocked Nassau ace Lefty Farber out of the box with a three hit barrage.

Captain Art Johns opened by drawing a pass. At this point, the sloppy play which characterized the Princeton defense throughout the game was revealed, as Hoye's sacrifice bunt was poorly handled.

Dick Grondahl pushed a single into right, which the fielder promptly threw to the grandstand to confound the catcher who was trying to cut off speeding Johns, Hoye going to third. Lupien slapped a long triple over the center-fielder's head, scoring Hoya and Grondahl. Soltz repeated the process, Lupien tallying.

Farber Shelled

This finished Farber, who was credited with the defeat in Harvard's 7-0 whitewashing of Princeton last week. Sophomore Dan Carmichael took the mound, only to be greeted by Tully's sacrifice fly, scoring Soltz.

From that point, Carmichael worked well until the fourth, when a pass to Tully, a Tiger error, and two singles produced two Crimson runs.

Four Runs, No Hits

In the fifth and eighth, Harvard scored all runs without one safety. In fact, the Nassau players outhit the home team, 10 to 8, but also chalked up more errors.
