SWIMMERS TAKE FIFTH PLACE IN TANK TESTS

Crimson swimmers fared poorly in the final day of the N. C. A. A. championships at Ann Arbor, adding only two points to their previous day's total of six to finish in a triple-tie for fifth place. Michigan won the meet for the sixth straight year.

Rusty Greenhood took fourth place in the high-board dive, repeating his low-board performance, and was the only Harvard man to place in Saturday's events. Al Patnik of Ohio State won the three-meter test with 161.32 points, an incredibly high total, and was more than 32 points ahead of his teammate Earl Clark. Hal Benham, of Michigan was third.

Jim Curwen, Eric Cutler and Frannie Powers did not survive the trials in the 100 and 440. Charlie Barker, of Ohio State, and Paul Wolf, of Southern California, tied for first in the century in 52.9, while Michigan's Tom Haynie won the quarter with his teammate, Jim Welsh second.

The final standings of the teams were: Michigan, 65; Ohio State, 58; Princeton, 22; Yale, 14; Harvard, Texas, and U. S. C., 8; Northwestern, 4; Columbia, Iowa, and Iowa State, 3; and Illinois, Florida, Kenyon, and F. & M. 2 apiece.
