Studies of various kinds of scholastic aptitude tests and examinations given at schools and colleges throughout the country will be conducted by Phillip J. Eugene has received a temporary appointment to fill Rulon's position during his leave of absence. Rulon will spend a year visiting educational institutions and preparing a survey with recommendations telling what new kinds of tests are needed.

Financed by a $19,000 gift from the Rockefeller Foundation the project is under the direction of the American Council on Education, a national organization of which Harvard is a member.
