"Stanley Brown and His Crimsonians," a twelve-piece outfit composed of members of the University Band, will attempt to trace the growth of swing music in a program to be given in Sanders Theatre Tuesday under the auspices of the Widener Theatre Collection.
Bix Beiderbecke, Bob Crosby, Art Shaw, and Benny Goodman are among those whose styles will be "illustrated" on the boards where Serge Koussevitzky is wont to tread. Part of the program will be devoted to original compositions by William Whitcraft '39 in the style of Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
Sample titles are "The Quest of a Flannel Row Boat" and "An Evening Behind the Eightball."
