Kirkland Trounces Lowell; Dunster Noses Out Winthrop; Eliot, Adams Win In Hoop Contests

Funster Luchansky Rolls Up 14 Points; Two Gold Coasters Score 10 Each

A well-coordinated Kirkland quintet had little difficulty in downing the Bell-boys 18-8 yesterday afternoon, while the lively Adams hoopsters trounced the Leverett men 34-14. A close one finally went to Dunster as it beat the Puritans 23-22, and Eliot swamped the Commuters 26-16.

For Kirkland Roberts and Abrams carried away the game, chalking up 8 points apiece. Roberts' spectacular shot from the center of the floor was a high sport in an otherwise uneventful game.

In the Leverett-Adams Skirmish, the lively Gold Coasters started off immediately on a scoring spree, and the Rabbits never once threatened their lead. Gordon and Calfee, mainstays for the Adams quintet, rolled up the highest scores with five field goals each while Dobbyn did most of the scoring for the Bunnies.

The Funsters in the last five seconds of an overtime thriller, came up with a basket that nosed out Winthrop. Luchansky further enlivened a close game scoring 14 of the Dunster tallies, while Clark and Peden stood out in the fast Puritan quintet.

Commuter Silverman tied Burt of the Elephants as each scored nine points. The brilliant playing of Perry and Milton, however, was more than enough to balance the work of the Commuters. Superior Eliot teamwork turned the game into a second half rout of the Dudley men.
