APTED WILL "DIE IN TRACES" BEFORE RESIGNING HIS POST

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rumors that Col. Charles R. Apted '06 might resign his post as generalissimo of the Yard Police because of illness were dispelled last night by the Colonel himself.

He has been suffering for some time from a throat ailment which, he believes, was caused by 55 hours of uninterrupted emergency work during the hurricane of September, 1938. Careful nursing has brought his health back to the point where a measure of hoarseness is all that's wrong with him, and even this will be gone, he expects, by springtime, when he will have to use his voice to utter stentorian "break it ups."
