With a plea for a "sound health program in the public school," varsity Soccer Coach John F. Carr '29 speeded up his preparations yesterday for the heated Cambridge School Committee contest in the final election tomorrow.

Before he left Friday morning with his Crimson booters to meet Princeton Saturday, Carr demanded that the schools adopt "a plan for physical education and recreating which will include all of the school children."

"Athletics for all" is his slogan for reducing the amount of juvenile delinquency in Cambridge.

Fourth among the six candidates who were nominated in primaries, Carr stands a very good chance of winning one of the three seats on the school committee, observers agreed yesterday. He has organized an extensive campaign, squeezing in between his soccer practice and his Boston law practice six or seven rallies an evening and many door to door canvasses.

He advocates three free physical examinations a year, safe drinking water, sanitary washing facilities, and proper ventilation and temperature control. Some of the schools are in "a disgraceful condition," according to Carr.

Believing that the schools should help graduates from the schools to find jobs, Carr said he was in favor of vacation guidance bureau to study the aptitudes of the school children, and recommend courses which would help them find job. The bureau would also serve as a placement office.
