Inter-House debating will formally open its 1939-1940 season Tuesday evening, when the various teams will meet in the House common rooms to treat the subject, "Resolved: That Congress Should Discharge the Dies Committee."
In Tuesday night's session Kirkland encounters Eliot, Dunster meets Lowell, the out-of-House men face Adams, and Leverett will oppose Winthrop.
Lawrence G. Ebb '39 and William P. Bundy, Yale '39, were announced yesterday as coaches for the teams and as critic judges for the debates. Ebb served as president of the Debating Council last year and during his term of office conceived and organized the present system of inter-House debating.
The second round of debates is scheduled for Tuesday, November 14; the third round, November 21; and the final round December 5. The House emerging with the most victories will be awarded the inter-House Debating Council Trophy.
