Harlowmen Get First Look at Indian Plays in Short Practice

Burgy Ayres Occupies Regular Post: Mose Hallett at Tackle; Koufman Uncertain

By Donald Peddie

Saturday's clash with the Indians of Dartmouth may seem a long way off, last actually all that separates Dick Harvard's eleven now from this all important tilt is about eight short hours of practice. Eight hours in which to prepare for Wild Bill Hutchinson, Ted Arlen, Bob Krieger and Co.

That's a man-sized task for any football squad, and Coach Harlow had to give the boys their first peek at some Green plays and formations yesterday. Starting yesterday the boys had ten potential hours of work ahead of them for the week, but obviously the men who saw considerable service against Penn had to be excused early. They left at 4:15 o'clock.

Ayres and Hallett on First

The first eleven, with Burgy Ayres in his regular pivot spot and Mose Hallett elevated to a first-string-left tackle heath went through a brief workout. Following this, a makeshill A team was formed of men who saw little action Saturday, and they were scrimmaged with the Jayvees. George Heiden was a standout in the redshirted A backfield.

Captain Torhic Macdonald's leg was a bit sore, and Joe Koufman's side still bothered him. Koufman suffered a slight recurrence of an old injury in Saturday's game, and his status for the Dartmouth game is uncertain. Francis Lee, Tom Healey, Charley Spreyer, and Joe Gardella missed practice, but all will be there today.

The invading Indians are as yet undefeated, and rank on about a par with the Crimson as far as manpower is concerned.
