Winthrop Catapults into First; Bellboys Nose Out Leverett 2-0

Winthrop's Puritan football team lifted itself into a tie with Dudley for first place in the House League by smashing Dunster 12 to 2 yesterday afternoon. Lowell, at the same time, was handing 5-2 to 0 defeat to Leverett while Dudley's powerhouse. In a practice game, smashed the Dormitory team by a 25 to 0 score.

Winthrop outplayed the Funsters all through the encounter, and was scored on only when Ed Hindle, Kicker, forget that he backed up in using his rocker kick and stepped over the back of the end zone while punting.

Kahn Blocks Punt

Ernie Kahn of the Puritan forward wall brought about the first score when he broke through to block a Dunster punt on the 20 yard line. Bob Fulton scored on a reverse.

The second touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a spectacular play when Joe (Torchy) Peden intercepted a pass and ran 75 yards down the sidelines to the goal line.

Felmeth Leads Bollboys

Johnny Felmeth, Sophomore star, led the Lowell House team to a 2 to 0 victory ever Leverett. The score came in the second quarter when the Bunnies tried two running plays with the ball on their own one foot line, where Felmeth had placed it with a coflin-corner kick. On the second down, the entire Lowell line broke through and downed the runner behind his own goal for the second safety of the day.

Lowell's first string line, especially Dean Morse, Mac Thurston, Don Todd, Line Clark, and Dave Hume, consistently bottled up the Bunny running plays.

Dudley won an unofficial game from the dormitory team, 20 to 0.
