Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The Weather Man predicts "Clear"; the odds say Harvard. But nothing will be clear until 2 o'clock, when an untested and unknown Crimson eleven meets its first stiff opposition in Soldiers Field against Pennsylvania.
The breathers, Bates and Chicago, failed to lift the lid from the football stew at Cambridge. But the twice victorious Quaker bruisers have already indicated a capacity to solve the Crimson mystery. They're big, they're seasoned, and they're determined to chalk up their second victory, away from home, in ten years.
Torbie the Margin of Victory
For the first time this year, Harvard will have every man in uniform and ready for action. And more to the point, Captain Torbie Macdonald will start his first game. His running, his passing, and his very presence in the lineup should be the determining factor in picking a Harvard win today.
A 200 pound, experienced Penn line is expected to check any sustained Crimson marches. So Torbie will be called upon to elude the Red and Blue defense by pass or long run for the margin of victory.
As one Crimson gridder was heard to remark yesterday, "Anyway, it'll be an interesting game." The restraining hand of Dick Harlow on his quarterback will be lifted today, and the orders are: Shoot the works. Against Bates and Chicago, passes and trick plays were held in reserve. Today the Crimson will have to dig deep into its bag of tricks and hope that enough of those puzzlers succeed.
Penn to Open Up
From Philadelphia reporters it was learned yesterday that Penn too has saved a number of its scoring plays. Although the Quakers never had a commanding lead over their first two victims by 6-0 scores, they relied on straight football. Today they'll be trying to out-harlow Harlow.
Of interest is the fact that Coach George Munger has brought his two top assistants with him. Usually at least one of the main mentors is scouting future, opponents each Saturday. However, Munger realizes that Howdy Odell and Rae Crowther, who formerly taught under Harlow, will be indispensable in checking the Harvard offense.
Toughest Odell Team
Yesterday Odell stated that the present Penn squad is one of the toughest he has coached anywhere. They average 199 in the line and 196 in the backfield, and the reserves will not decrease the size at all.
But Penn is not completely reliant on power. In addition to the adoption of the Harlow offense, the team has two dangerous open field runners in Frank Reagan and Ed Allen, and Harlan Gustafson is probably the most spectacular receiver in Ivy League circles.
If Harvard is to stop this offense along with the plunging of Chizmadia, all the potential abilities of a green and considerably Sophomoric eleven must be realized
