Twelve Harvard Track Men To Compete in K. C. Games

Led by Captain Bob Haydock, '39, twelve members of the Varsity track team will make their winter debut in the K. of C. Meet tomorrow night. The Crimson contingent is not expected to do more than place one or two men in a field which includes such star performers as Glenn Cunningham, Dave Albritton and Alan Tolmich, but as Coach Mikkola puts it: "Upsets can happen anytime."

Don Donahue '41, sensation of last year's Freshman team, who reputedly won eight events in a meet during his preparatory school career, will attempt to score a double in the hurdles and dash. Though up against strong competition, observers think that Don may chase Alan Tolmich across the finish line for a second place ahead of all other New England timber-toppers.

"Bullet Bob" Gammons '39, comes out of a year's retirement with his torn leg muscle "as good as new," in an effort to dominate the fifty-yard dash field.

The entries:

45-yard hurdles--D. Donahue, M. Fernald '40, R. Schafer '41.

50-yard dash--D. Donahue, R. Gammons, F. Ulen '39, C. Smith, '41.

1000-yard run--C. Oldfather '41.

One-mile run--R. Brayton '39

High jump--C. Bauer '42, R. Haydock, R. Partlow '41.

Two-mile run--R. Nichols '41.
