John Stillman '40, President of the Student Union, issued the following statement last night in reference to the Union's position on current news developments.

"Democracy, to be lasting, must serve human needs; therefore, the Student Union thoroughly supports the President's aims in expanding the Social Security program. As the drive for refugee scholarships has been successfully completed we now strongly endorse the Pan-American scholarship plan. However, we must have a real democracy to show our Southern neighbors."
